COMPANY HISTORY AT A GLANCE

 

1969

Established as a race preparation and foreign car repair shop by James R. Huber & Ronald B. Shantz.

 

1975

Incorporated Company and moved to Cambridge Facility.

 

1976

Took delivery of 45 Ton friction welder in September.

 

1984

Took delivery of 6 Ton friction welder in January.

 

1986

Took delivery of 115 Ton friction welder.

 

1988

Moved across laneway to current location in Cambridge.

Took delivery of 15 Ton friction welder.

 

1989

Operation expanded to include Induction Heat treating and CNC machining.

 

1994

Took delivery of 100 Ton friction welder dedicated to Trailer Axle Production.

 

1998

Took delivery of a second 45 Ton friction welder.

 

1999

ARD expanded its operations to 19000 sq ft which is it’s current location.

Obtained ISO9002: 1999 Certificate.

 

2000

Took delivery of a second 6 Ton friction welder.

 

2001

Took delivery of third 45 Ton friction welder.

 

2003

Took delivery of a Multi-Station Lean Automation dedicated for high volume machining.

Richard Peters became an equal partner and Director of the company.

Obtained ISO9001: 2000 Certificate.

 

2007

Took delivery of a second 15 Ton friction welder.

 

2009

ARD Industries Ltd announced on Jan 18/09 with great sadness the death of one of its founders Ronald B. Shantz following his courageous battle with Frontotemporal Dementia. Mr. Shantz was 64.

 

2011

ARD Industries Ltd. announced the retirement of Jim Huber.
